Flash Flood Warning

... Flash Flood Warning remains in effect for lake... Geauga and
eastern Cuyahoga counties until 300 am EDT...

At 1154 PM EDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated no
rainfall over the warning area. Much of the water has moved into
area creeks and rivers with a few low lying areas still holding a
bit of water. The rivers and creeks are likely close to cresting and
will begin so slowly fall through 3 am.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding. If driving... slow down! Be alert for low
spots... dips... and underpasses which may be flooded. People in low
lying areas along creeks and streams should move to higher ground to
escape rising water levels.

Flash Flood Watch

... Flash Flood Watch in effect through Monday afternoon...

The National Weather Service in Cleveland has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of northeast Ohio and northwest
Pennsylvania... including the following areas... in northeast
Ohio... Ashtabula inland... Ashtabula Lakeshore... Cuyahoga...
Geauga... Lake and Trumbull. In northwest Pennsylvania...
Crawford PA... northern Erie and southern Erie.

* Through Monday afternoon

* an area of low pressure and a potent upper level disturbance
will move east across Lake Erie tonight and early Monday. This
storm system has the potential to produce locally heavy rainfall
across portions of northeastern Ohio and northwestern
Pennsylvania. An additional 1 to 3 inches of rainfall is
possible in addition to the heavy rainfall that fell earlier
today. Lake Erie will help enhance the rainfall and rainfall
rates could approach two inches per hour.

* Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall may produce flooding in
poor drainage and low lying areas. If more widespread rainfall
amounts reach 2 inches flooding will also be possible along some
of the area rivers and creeks.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means the threat of flash flooding exists
along rivers and creeks. If you are in the watch area you should
monitor weather conditions closely. Be ready to move to higher
ground if flooding is observed or a warning is issued. Stay tuned
to weather radio for further updates.
